Metal Posts in Ditches - Important Safety Notice

9/1/2013

Due to safety concerns, Ponoka County no longer allows the erection of metal posts in its ditches. If you require temporary signage at or near your work site, please use wooden posts or a tri-pod stand, and ensure their removal upon completion of the project.

These recent photos show two metal sign posts that were not removed by the responsible company, and subsequently struck during winter plowing efforts. These have now become a threat to the traveling public and have necessitated the above action.

Please note - rural addressing signs are to be located on private property, not in the County's ditches.
