Gull Lake North Citizen on Patrol
Registered as a society in 2003, Gull Lake North Citizens on Patrol (GLNCOP) serves as the “eyes and ears” for the Rimbey RCMP. Our volunteer members conduct random patrols in pairs in their own vehicles in the lake neighborhoods and surrounding areas located on the north west area of Gull Lake. Our members take an active role to detect and deter crime by liaising with our local police agency in an effort to ensure safe homes and communities.
Members receive special training as developed by our provincial body, Alberta Citizens On Patrol Association (ACOPA). In addition, GLNCOP members receive first aide training, and are also encouraged to attend yearly ACOPA conferences and workshops.
Participation in GLNCOP has given our members a greater awareness of community issues and concerns, and also afforded opportunities to participate in community events.
New members are always welcome. To learn more about Citizens on Patrol visit the ACOPA website at www.acopa.ca. For more information or to inquire about joining Gull Lake North Citizens On Patrol, call Cathy McKellar (Vice-President) at 403-843-1187.
