RecyclingPonoka County residents now have an option for their recyclables at the Ponoka County Waste Transfer Station on 39 Avenue in the Southwest Industrial Park.
There are 16 bins that will be available for collection of recyclable items. Acceptable are plastic containers stamped with a recycle symbol, tin or aluminum cans, cardboard and non-glass drink containers. Bins are marked with signage to help users sort properly. Some materials such, as glass and styrofoam are not accepted in the recyclables. It benefits everyone as the goal is less materials going into the landfill. Photo & story courtesy of Ponoka News

Acceptable Recyclable ChemicalsSome chemicals can be taken to the transfer stations and the landfill site for immediate recycling. Those not listed should be held until the "Chemical Round-Ups".
